LTA zeolite

LTA molecular sieve belongs to - cubic crystal system, the space is Fm3c, the unit cell parameter is a=24.61A, and the skeleton density is 12.9T/1000A. The skeleton structure of LTA is related to the SOD structure. In the SOD structure, the SOD cages are arranged in a body-centered cubic form, connected to each other by single four- and six-membered rings. In the LTA structure, however, the SOD cages are arranged in a simple cubic form, connected to each other by double quaternary rings (DIR), resulting in an a-cage and a three-dimensional skeleton structure at the center of the unit cell. From another point of view, the skeleton structure of LTA can also be regarded as a simple cubic arrangement of a cages, and the a cages are connected by a single eight-membered ring, resulting in a B cage in the center. LTA has a three-dimensional 8-membered ring channel system. The free diameter of the channel is 4.1A×4.1A. LTA is often used as an ion exchanger in drying agents and detergents.
