Study on Adsorption Removal of DMDS

Adsorption and removal performance of various molecular sieve adsorbents for dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) in solution were investigated by normal temperature and pressure adsorption methods.

The adsorption activity results show that due to the strong competitive adsorption of MTBE, only ZSM-5 molecular sieve can selectively remove DMDS from MTBE, while other molecular sieves have no effect at all.

The unique ten-membered ring channel of ZSM-5 is the key to selective adsorption. Through a series of transition metal modification, the results show that only the silver ion modified adsorbent sulfur capacity increased. The sulfur capacity in the oil increased from an unmodified 13.4 mg / g to 35.4 mg / g.
